Golden Eagle Nominee, Gabriel Hill

Gabriel Hill

Regular readers will recognize the young man in the photo as Gabriel Hill, often in Peaces of News in recognition of his community service.

His commitment to volunteer service in Peacemakers, Macon Outreach, Parent University, and a Saturday morning Yu-Gi-Oh! program have earned him a nomination for a Golden Eagle award in citizenship.
The Golden Eagle awards are made by The Macon Telegraph annually to graduating seniors in middle Georgia. Gabriel will graduate from Northeast Health-Science Magnet in May. His grade point average is 3.4, and he plans to attend Fort Valley State University next fall.
In an essay Gabriel is required to write for the nomination, he is asked to explain how and why he does his community service. His first sentence is, “It all began with Peacemakers.” He then discusses the moral principles that Peacemakers uphold and how he was introduced to community service through the program.
Congratulations to Gabriel for his school counselor’s nomination! We’re betting he will fare well among the other nominees.
