Mission Statement Peacemakers is an all-volunteer organization that teaches children peaceful ways of being with themselves and with the world. It includes children ages 8 to 13 at no charge regardless of race, economic or social status.It includes a five-night, six-day, away-from-home camp in the summer, as well as quarterly events in Macon, GA or at nearby campsites. The curriculum promotes ethical values common to all religions and denominations. How we do this includes:
Peacemakers 5K Run/Walk, Saturday, November 7, 20095K Run/walk at Ocmulgee National Monument, Macon, GA Race proceeds go to Peacemakers, a 501(C) 3 (nonprofit) organization that teaches life skills to children ages 8-13. $18.00 per individual if postmark is before October 24; after this date, fee is $20.00. $40.00 maximum per family of four before October 24; $45.00 afterwards $15.00 per person for teams of 10 or more before Oct. 24; no teams afterwards Please submit all applications in one envelope for family or team registrants. Race day registrations are accepted, but a T-shirt is not guaranteed for race-day registrants. Check-in and same-day registration start at 8:15 AM. Race starts at 9:00 AM. Course is scenic and demanding, with two long, gradual inclines. Race starts and ends at the visitors’ center. Ocmulgee National Monument has no fee to visit. Runners and walkers may stay as long as they like after the race. Water and snacks are provided.Awards to top three overall male and female, top overall male and female masters, and top three males and females in each category: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over.
